This course is intended for professionals from a variety of backgrounds to develop an understanding of health behavior change science, motivational interviewing, and coaching competencies to help clients adopt healthy lifestyle changes. Online classwork includes asynchronous learning and weekly synchronous class and mentor coaching sessions. Students must complete a minimum of 60 hours of health coaching. This course is an approved training program by the National Board for Health and Wellness Coaching (NBHWC). Successful completion of this course allows students to be eligible to sit for the national certification exam from NBHWC.
